Description
The C2000™ 32-bit microcontroller is optimized for processing, sensing, and driving, improving closed-loop performance in real-time control applications, such as industrial motor drives, photovoltaic inverters, digital power, electric vehicles and transportation, motor control, and sensing and signal processing. The C2000 series includes both high-performance and entry-level MCUs.
The TMS320F2807x microcontroller series is suitable for advanced closed-loop control applications, like industrial motor drives, photovoltaic inverters and digital power, electric vehicles and transportation, as well as sensing and signal processing. To accelerate application development, the DigitalPower software development kit (SDK) for C2000 MCUs and the MotorControl software development kit (SDK) for C2000™ MCUs are available.
The F2807x is a 32-bit floating-point microcontroller based on TI's industry-leading C28x core. Performance is enhanced with a trigonometric hardware accelerator, which uses CPU instructions (such as sine, cosine, and arctangent functions) to speed up trig-based algorithms commonly found in torque loop and position calculations.
The F2807x microcontroller series features a CLA (Control Law Accelerator) real-time control co-processor. The CLA is an independent 32-bit floating-point processor running at the same speed as the main CPU. It can respond to peripheral triggers and execute code simultaneously with the main C28x CPU. This parallel processing effectively doubles the computation performance of the real-time control system. By using the CLA for time-critical functions, the main C28x CPU is freed up for other tasks like communication and diagnostics.
F2807x devices support up to 512KB (256KW) of ECC-protected on-chip flash and up to 100KB (50KW) of parity-protected SRAM. Two separate secure zones are also provided on the CPU to protect 128-bit code on the main C28x.
The analog subsystem comes with up to three 12-bit ADCs, capable of simultaneously managing three independent power phases; up to eight windowed comparator subsystems (CMPSS) can quickly trigger PWM under overvoltage or overcurrent conditions. Devices also include three 12-bit DACs and precise control peripherals, such as enhanced PWM (ePWM) with fault protection, eQEP peripherals, and eCAP modules.
Connectivity peripherals include dual CAN controllers (compliant with ISO 11898-1/CAN 2.0B) and USB 2.0 ports with MAC and full-speed PHY, allowing users to easily add USB connectivity to their applications.
